SunVest Solar Ranked No. 1 Solar Developer in Wisconsin

Pewaukee, WI, July 21, 2021 — SunVest Solar LLC is proud to announce it was ranked by Solar Power World as the No. 1 solar developer based in Wisconsin for the sixth year in a row, and No. 9 nationally for 2021. Solar Power World is the leading solar publication covering technology, development, and installation.

“Solar is a rapidly growing sector of the economy and SunVest has been able to outpace the industry,” said Kirk Kindred, President of SunVest Solar. “SunVest is committed to helping utilities, commercial and industrial as well as non-profit organizations enjoy sustainable solar energy. We are honored to be recognized for our work in the 2021 Top Solar Contractors Ranking.”

Top Solar Developers can originate projects and work as an engineering, procurement, and construction contractor (EPC). Each developer is ranked based on the kilowatts (kW) installed in 2020. In 2020, SunVest ranked 14th nationally with 16,226.9 kW installed in 2019. This year, SunVest ranked 9th nationally with 49,124.2 kW installed in 2020, an increase of more than 300 percent.

SunVest serves as developer and general contractor for customers, designing cost effective solutions to maximize the financial impact, and hiring local, vetted installers to complete the project.

Since 2009, SunVest Solar has completed development activity across 14 states. Additionally, SunVest has expanded its business model to include developing, building, owning, and operating solar facilities. This transition to providing a complete solar platform will continue to drive growth opportunities in the coming years.

According to the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), the U.S. has installed more than 100 GW of solar capacity, enough to power 18.6 million homes. The U.S. solar industry is expected to install an additional 160 GW of capacity over the next 5 years.

“Companies, communities and landowners are increasingly looking for clean, sustainable energy that reduces their fossil fuel consumption and their carbon footprint,” Kindred said. “Nationally, we see community solar gardens playing an instrumental role in bringing renewable energy accessibility to the largest number of consumers.”
