SunVest Solar Inc. Named in Top 100 Solar Contractors List Nationwide
Solar Power World has released their Top Solar Contractors list for 2020. SunVest Solar Inc. has been named the number one solar developer in Wisconsin for the 5th year-in-a-row, and has ranked 14th nationally for 2020. SunVest has also been recognized as one of the top 100 solar contractors in the United States. Although the COVID-19 pandemic is the immediate crisis unfolding now, mitigating climate change is also an urgent issue. Solar PV installation is one way to help reduce greenhouse gases from fossil fuels; SunVest continues to grow their efforts and are quickly moving up in nationwide ranking.
What is the Top Solar Contractors List?
The Top Solar Contractors list is developed each year by Solar Power World to honor the work of solar installers big and small. Solar firms in the utility, commercial and residential markets are ranked by number of kilowatts installed in the previous year. Companies are grouped and listed by specific service (developers, electrical subcontractors, EPCs, installation subcontractors, rooftop installers), markets and states.

This year’s collection of Top Solar Contractors is facing obstacles that this industry has never seen before. The first quarter of 2020 was the country’s biggest ever, with 3.6 GW of new solar capacity added. But COVID-19 impacts showed their force in Q2, and Wood Mackenzie is forecasting residential and non-residential markets will see 25% and 38% decreases in year-over-year installation volumes this year. SunVest Solar Inc. has taken every precaution to keep projects moving forward while maintaining safety for staff, partners and clients.
SunVest Solar Inc. has a staff of 30 employees who developed 16.2 MW of solar power in 2019. Since its founding in 2009, the developer has installed 41.8 MW of solar. This is equivalent to greenhouse gas emissions being removed in the amount of removing 7,662 passenger vehicles from the road for a year. That is nearly the entire population of a small town in Wisconsin not driving their vehicle for a full year.
