SunVest Named to Crain’s “Fast 50” List of Chicago’s Fastest-Growing Companies

The company is the first renewable energy firm to ever be included on the list

Chicago, IL – SunVest Solar, one of the largest vertically integrated developers of distributed generation renewable energy projects in the U.S., announced today it has been named #14 on the 2025 Crain’s Chicago Business “Fast 50” list, an annual ranking of the fastest-growing privately held companies in the Chicago area. SunVest is the first and only renewable energy company to ever be included on the list.

The annual “Fast 50” list highlights companies that have achieved exceptional revenue growth over the past five years, based on independent financial analysis conducted by Crain’s. SunVest Solar’s inclusion reflects its strong trajectory in the clean energy sector and its growing impact across Illinois and the Midwest.

“We are honored to be recognized by Crain’s as one of Chicago’s fastest-growing companies,” said Bram Walters, CEO of SunVest Solar. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our team and the growing demand for clean, reliable, and locally-produced solar energy. As more businesses and communities seek out sustainable energy solutions, SunVest is proud to be at the forefront of that transition.”

Now in its 16th year, Fast 50 showcases the fastest-growing companies in the Chicago-area, ranked by revenue growth percentage over the previous 5 years.

Founded in 2009, SunVest Solar has developed over 300 megawatts of solar projects and is one of the Midwest’s most experienced developers of distributed generation solar. In 2023, SunVest relocated from metro Milwaukee to its new headquarters in Chicago’s West Loop, drawn to the city’s deep talent pool as well as Illinois’ growing renewable energy sector.

“Our growth is not just about scale—it’s about transforming how energy is generated, delivered, and experienced at the local level,” Walters added. “We’re proud to be recognized as a leader in Chicago’s business community and even prouder to be cultivating access to renewable energy in the Midwest and across America.”
